Let's Get Started With Weight Loss/Management

Hi folks,

I would like to start this blog about Healthy Eating and Living because it is something that I am quite passionate about.

I know there are hundreds, even thousands of web sites about this topic but a new voice is always (usually) welcome.

I have been a member of Weight Watchers for many years and still enjoy attending the meetings and living the lifestyle that they suggest. I have little or no knowledge of the many other weight management programs available so am unable to talk about them much. In fact, I won't talk about Weight Watchers much either since I don't work for them and don't have the authority to.

What I can talk about is what works for me and how I control my weight and eating/exercise habits.

I think that one of the most important things about weight loss and weight management is to not get discouraged.

I know it has been a long, hard winter (at least for those of us here up north) and has been difficult to maintain our exercise program out doors. Spring is coming! Don't get discouraged.

Remember that weight management is for life and that's a long road. Don't quit just because you don't see results immediately. This is going to take time, and time is slipping by - use it wisely.

What I would like to see in this Blog is for readers to post comments/suggestions/recipes for weight loss and weight management. Let's use this to help each other.

Let's support each other (I like a pat on the back once in awhile just as much as the next person does) and help each other live a more healthier, active lifestyle.

I'll leave you today with this thought that I always pass to people wanting to try something new:

"The first step is OFTEN the most difficult one, however, it is ALWAYS the most important one"

(I can't find this quote anywhere so I don't know where it originated but It's one that I have been using for years.)

Have a great day,

Randy

I can relate to that quote - and I do think that my first step was the most important one because of course without it, there would be nor further challenges. Pretty difficult being stuck at a plateau though, that's for sure.
